Isaiah 30:6-11

New International Version

Through a land of hardship and distress,^(C)
    of lions^(D) and lionesses,
    of adders and darting snakes,^(E)
the envoys carry their riches on donkeys’^(F) backs,
    their treasures^(G) on the humps of camels,
to that unprofitable nation,
⁷     to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless.^(H)
Therefore I call her
    Rahab^(I) the Do-Nothing.

⁸ Go now, write it on a tablet^(J) for them,
    inscribe it on a scroll,^(K)
that for the days to come
    it may be an everlasting witness.^(L)
9 For these are rebellious^(M) people, deceitful^(N) children,
    children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction.^(O)
10 They say to the seers,^(P)
    “See no more visions^(Q)!”
and to the prophets,
    “Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,^(R)
    prophesy illusions.^(S)
11 Leave this way,^(T)
    get off this path,
and stop confronting^(U) us
    with the Holy One^(V) of Israel!”
